Leslie Feist plans to take a break from her music career after the end of her current Canadian tour to reflect on the past few years in which she shot to fame.
"[My Career] has become kind of large and it really began for me very, very small. [It was] me alone in my bedroom with my four-track and a pair of headphones" she told Canadian Press.
Over the last few years Feist has garnered numerous achievements for which she should be proud, one of her most famous moments is having her single 1234 featured on the Apple iPod Nano commercial, helping it to reach number 8 in the US and UK Charts.
Feist has won many awards including two Canadian Juno Awards for "Best New Artist" and "Best Alternative Rock Album". She's achieved platinum status in Canada and Gold status in France. Feist also contributed to the UNICEF benefit song "Do they know it's Hallowe'en?" as well as touring extensively throughout 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Feists album "The Reminder" was certified Gold in the US after a million sales, the same album also won her a 2008 Juno Award for "Album of the Year" along with a 2008 Shortlist Music Prize. Feist toured extensively in support of her album, and it's single "1234" earned her a "Single of the Year" Juno Award in 2008. The album also earned her a nomination for Pop Album of the Year at the 50th Grammy Awards.
We're very proud of Feists achievements and we look forward to seeing her return, but she has definitely worked hard for this well earned break.
